Karate Counter Attacks

Karate Counter Attacks Karate counter attacks are also essential for self defense.

I have already outlined several blocking techniques used in karate. These were karate defensive moves designed to repel an attack.

Counter attacks go a step further.

These techniques involve not only blocking an attack, but include immediate and simultaneous retaliatory action.

Of course, not only karate uses the notion of counter attacking your opponent in this manner. Other martial arts like Wing Chun and even boxing encourage you to do so.

The key to successfully counter attacking your opponent is timing, speed and accuracy. To do them effectively, you have to practice till your responses become second nature.

Remember always to aim for the pressure points and nerve focal centers of your opponent's face and body and legs.

I am currently preparing a PDF downloadable chart with such pressure points for you to download for free.

The chart shows 68 pressure targets and focal centers on the human body from the top of the head right down to the toes! (Stick around with this site. Bookmark it, or subscribe to my RSS/XML feed, so that you know when this chart comes up).

How do you use these techniques? Well, in essence, you are supposed to target your opponent's weaker spots and continue with various counter strokes until your opponent surrenders or is "out of action".
